Matthew Gouveia

Matthew has been deeply moved over the past few years by the art of mask, clown and image theatre. Shakespeare also holds a place in his heart and in his second year at Humber College, he found pleasure in playing the Boy in Henry V. Matthew is thrilled to be a part of Humber River Shakespeare’s touring production of The Taming of the Shrew this summer. Through curiosity, complicity and rigor, Matthew hopes to create theatre which speaks to the heart. He plans to stay vigilant about what it is that moves the soul and to keep this fresh in his search. Matthew thanks Dean Gilmour for encouraging him to “hold on to this feeling”.
